Hurghada's offshore waters are among the Red Sea's most productive fishing grounds, and this full day puts you out on them with a properly equipped boat and a crew who know where the fish are. You will leave the marina in the morning and head out past the inshore reefs to deeper water, where the skipper sets the trolling lines for pelagic species such as barracuda, trevally and mackerel and, in season, tuna and the occasional sailfish. Between trolling runs the crew anchors over reef edges for bottom-fishing, a hands-on way to hook grouper and snapper that suits first-timers and seasoned anglers alike. All the rods, reels, tackle and bait are provided, and the crew is on hand to rig lines, coach technique and land whatever comes up. Lunch and soft drinks are served on board between sessions, with time to relax on deck and take in the open water. Catches depend on the day, the season and the sea, so nothing is guaranteed, but the boat, the gear and the local know-how give you every chance.
