You will explore the wonders of Luxor on both the east and west banks of the Nile, taking in some of Egypt’s most significant archaeological sites. The ancient city of Thebes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, spans these banks. On the east side you will admire the vast rooms, obelisks and the Sacred Lake within the Karnak complex. Along the way you will follow the Avenue of the Sphinxes that links to Luxor Temple, where impressive statues of Pharaoh Ramses II stand. You will then cross the river to the west bank to see the grand funerary architecture used for burial. The visit includes the Valley of the Kings, where you will learn how tombs were cut from desert rock, decorated and filled with treasures for the afterlife. You will also see the two soaring Colossi of Memnon before the experience concludes at the striking Temple of Hatshepsut.
