Still cool, still high season, and marginally quieter than January. The Abu Simbel Sun Festival on 22 February draws large crowds to Aswan for a sunrise that lasts about twenty minutes — arrive the night before. Cairo's cultural season is at full strength, with the institutes and the Opera House programming heavily before the heat arrives.
