El Gouna is a very "select" and very quiet tourist area that contrasts with the very popular and vibrant side of Hurghada. If you are looking for authenticity and local life, it is not for you and it is obviously not representative of Egypt, but I find it worth discovering for half a day and, visually, the place makes a very good impression.
